Rob’s son Connor participated in The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) and US Marine Corps STEM Engineering and Construction Camp for 8th to 12th grade students at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC) 29 Palms April 6 – 8th 2018.
50 students in 5 squads performed hands-on activities following the theme of BUILD then DESIGN under the leadership, supervision, guidance and mentoring from USMC and SAME staff. Activities included opportunities to discuss STEM topics with engineers from industry, guest speakers, construction companies and military leaders and included the following activities:
• Concrete Beam - Plan / Design / Construction / Destruction / Testing with “JEEP Loading”
• Engineering Problem Solving
• Wood form Construction
• Engineering Tours of MC facilities and operations
